🔥 Firewood and propane are not provided but can be easily purchased locally if you'd like to enjoy the fire pit or grill during your stay.

🐾 We welcome well-behaved dogs, but please note that the yard is not fully fenced.

The home was nice, easy to find. I appreciate the listing being a pet friendly location but the yard is NOT fenced in, the whole reason I I look for air bnb vs hotel. We had a nice time in town and within a 20 minute drive to other towns we like to visit. Phil was responsive when necessary and the space was nice and clean.

Peaceful place and beach views, 5 minutes away by car. Great restaurants, ice cream area such as Sherman’s, and coffee places, abound! The Mt Balhead Park, The Oval Beach, the SoHa Lighthouse and the amazing view of the sunset, were highlights of our short stay! Needless to say, our dog had a ball as well, although it was not allowed in the Oval Beach.

The home had everything we needed - it was well stocked and the location was convenient to all we wanted to do for the SOHA NYE Fest. I was grateful to find a place that would let us stay for one night - which is rare and was so much nicer than having several hotel rooms. On the down side - it really showed some wear and pet use. The couch was really worn and COVERED in pet hair. I vacuumed the floors and the couch and then got some clean sheets to put down over the couch before we sat on it(we had several with us who are allergic). The vacuum really wasn't very effective so I guess I understand why the cleaners did a mediocre job at getting things up off the floor. There were things sitting in the washing machine when we arrived - we just left it there. It was a last minute booking so I wasn't surprised that the snow was thick and that the home was cold - but it would have been nice it that hadn't been the case - a rug just inside the door would have been helpful too - lots of snow we trudged through that we tried to keep isolated to the entry. The off season seems like a great time to do a deep clean and some minor repairs. Ya'all might want to take a trip to South Haven and give this one a solid once-over (brink caulk) before launching into next season. Thanks for the stay. Happy New Year!

💎 HIDDEN GEM💎 Phil is an exceptional host, you will not find better. Phil is easy to communicate with, pleasant and proactive. The property was exactly as represented; a lovely private cottage with plenty amenities to make us feel right at home. Comfy beds, plenty of TVs, books, games, towels, blankets, pillows and cookware. A large yard and fire area in a quiet neighborhood made this the perfect scene for our daughter’s 3am surprise holiday visit. You will not find a more comfortable, pet friendly and well run place in the area at this price. We will definitely use and recommend Phil again.

The house is old, but was very clean (other than a musty smell) and had cute decor just as what is displayed in the photos. Easy check-in and check out. Host was very responsive. Our biggest concern regarding the house is that the stairs going upstairs are very steep which made us nervous with our toddler. Unfortunately there is no bathroom upstairs either so one has to go down the steps in the middle of the night for the bathroom/to get water etc. We enjoyed the ambiance of the backyard with the lights and firepit. Overall the house met our needs and was a good stay.

Phil was a great host, he was very responsive (even late at night) and gave good recommendations. House was great. It was in the 87+ outside, and the house stayed cool in the summer. Outside was very nice, our four kids played outside a ton.

We had a wonderful stay at this cozy beach house! The location is fantastic—just a short drive to downtown South Haven or several beautiful Lake Michigan beaches. The home was clean, and we really appreciated the fresh linens that were provided. It made settling in so easy. The house has a rustic charm, and while there are a few quirks (like both bathrooms being on the main floor and a narrow, steep staircase), it didn’t take away from our overall enjoyment. There’s no central AC or dishwasher, but the window units and fans kept things comfortable. Note—we had lots of bugs crawling in through the window units, if that’s something that can be fixed for future guests. Phil was a great host, very responsive and helpful! All in all, it was a great experience. If you’re looking for a laid-back, beachy vibe with all the basics covered, this place is a solid choice. We’d definitely come back!
