We’ve stayed here before and it just keeps getting better. We loved the hot tub and fire pit after a long day of shopping. The house was perfect to accommodate our whole group and even our furry pet friend that came along. This place is perfect. It remains a friend group fave for our trips to Galena.

We enjoyed our weekend at The Nook! Walkable to Main Street via a pedestrian path over the river, or a quick drive. A train came by twice each night, obviously out of the host's control. It was nice to have two full bathrooms to share, plenty of seating, and room to park off the street. A great home base for enjoying Galena!

Phil’s house was a perfect getaway for our family and two dogs. The fenced in yard was large, private, and just mowed when we arrived. The house was very clean, and on a corner lot for extra privacy. It was walkable to downtown Galena (15 min), and really close to Grant Park, which was a very nice walk with our pups. Phil was very responsive- whether it was him or his assistant, and it definitely made things easier to get quick responses and check ins. We did get some fruit flies, but nothing out of the ordinary. We would definitely stay here again. Phil is an excellent host!

House was very close to downtown and walkable, which was very convenient. Backyard was great for our dog, and house was clean and had everything we needed!

Phil’s place is very close to the downtown area. Although his place is walkable to the downtown area, it was better for us to drive the few minutes given the heat at the time we were visiting. His home provides shampoo, conditioner and body wash in both bathrooms. A washer and dryer can be found on the main level near the kitchen area. The beds were comfortable.

This was a wonderful find! Especially suited if you’re traveling with your furry friends! Huge fenced in back yard, doggie treats and even a dog bed in the corner of the living room! We’ve stayed in our share of vacation rentals and Phil’s attention to detail was second to none!

This was our favorite stay of our trip! The home was in excellent condition, the hot tub was very clean, good water pressure in the showers and beds were very comfortable. We loved the dark shades for night time, quiet yet walkable neighborhood, and the large fenced yard was a great feature for our dog. The home was a bit hot upon our arrival (during a heat wave), especially the upstairs, but it cooled down fast and we appreciated having ceiling fans in every bedroom. My sons and I all agreed that we slept the best in this home. We wish we could have stayed longer, and we will definitely be back!
